Sergey is the founder and director of Dance Stream Studio. Sergey has been specializing teaching jazz, hip-hop, lyrical, and modern dance since 1996 in Ukraine, Israel and Canada.
After majoring in dance at Rovno University of Arts in Ukraine, he trained with many famous teachers, performed and competed at regional and national competitions.
His passion for youth and for the art of dance inspires him to continue training and spreading his love for dance to others. Sergey's dancers have won numerous choreography awards, as well as been selected for special events and professional careers. He has done much choreography for dance teams and competition classes.
Elena is featuring Ballroom and Latin dance division. After many years of training and competing at International Championships , Elena become world recognized dancer and after completing her Master degree of Fine Arts she become qualified teacher and studio owner. A few years ego Elena received her Adjudication Licence and become a member of Canadian Dance Sport Association.
Her goals are to share her love of dance with her students and to help inspire them to reach their full potential, gain confidence and self-esteem.
Erica has been dancing competitively for 15 years with well-known dance studios, including Performing Dance Arts and Rugcutterz Danz Artz, where she trained in Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Ballet, Acro and Musical Theatre. Erica has competed internationally and has won numerous awards, including Miss Teen Dance U.S.A. She has also worked with famous choreographers including Luther Brown, Mia Michaels and Tyce Diorio. Erica was also a dancer in the Raptors Dance Pak, the Toronto Marlies Dance Team, and most recently, the Chapman's Ice Cream commercial. She is currently completing her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance at the most comprehensive program in Canada, Ryerson University. This program consists of rigorous dance training, dance theory and history, as well as anatomy. Dance has always been an essential part of Erica's life. It is a way where thoughts, feelings and desires can be expressed and she loves to share this experience with her students.
Peter Loung is a multifaceted performer, entertainer, and teacher. Peter is a film and television actor working with many iconic actors such as: Robin Williams, Edward Norton, Christian Bale, Chow Yun Fat, Erin Karpluk etc. Peter is an acrobat in the circus and is now an internationally certified gymnastics coach – NCCP Level 3. Peter is a musician starting classical guitar from the age of 5 and as a result finished his Royal Conservatory training and a University degree in music. He has played with, opened, and written for a myriad of artists including: Karl Wolf, Lauryn Hill, Kardinall Offishall, and Kaos to name a few. His love for music subsequently translated into a passion for movement and concurrently he studied the Chinese martial art Wing Chun and later the mystical art form of the Shaolin. This natural aptitude for movement then seamlessly progressed to dance. As a dancer Peter has performed and toured with Wyclef Jean, Soul Decision, Laura Fabian, and Mia Minx. His dancing has been showcased in numerous music videos, live performances, and movies including the film Honey, starring Jessica Alba, a live show for Britney Spears on Much Music, and the opening act for Russell Peters on the Just for Laughs comedy tour. Peter is very proud to be part of the Dance Stream and since his arrival has qualified a breakdance student to attend the world championships two years running!
Jessica Ford began developing her unique style at the age of 4 at top studios in the GTA. She gained a strong technical foundation at Performing Dance Arts and Joanne Chapmans School of Dance. Throughout her dance career, Jessica has always been known for her quality of movement and ability to connect with an audience. Jessica graduated from an arts high school as a dance major and went onto graduate from the George Brown Dance program. She has competed around the world and has had the opportunity to work with inspiring choreographers including Hanna Kiel, William Yong, Jessica Runge, Leon Blackwood, Irv Washington, Scott Fordham and Lauren Runions. Jessica is the founder and artistic director of Kalos Collectives; a contemporary collective of new and upcoming dance artists in Toronto. She recently had her work featured in Fever After Dark and The Choreographers Ball. She has performed in events such as The LabCab Festival, Choreoball, Hit The Floor's: Allstar Showcase and Scott Fordham's: Limitless. She continues to strive towards helping young dancers find their own sense of movement and open their minds to the world of improvisational movement.
Alona Khaninson began her professional dance training at the age of 9 after leaving the olympic reserve artistic gymnastics team. Between the age of 9 and her high school graduation Alona successfully completed all her RAD Examinations and participated in the RAD Competition of Excellence where she recieved a 3rd place.
The training she recieved while growing up consisted of many dance disciplines including RAD and Vaganova ballet techniques, Graham, Limon and Horton modern techniques, Jazz, Character, partnering and pointe work. This allowed her to pursue a professional dance career and perform with Ontario Ballet Theatre, Canadian Ballet Theatre and European Ballet in London, UK. She began her performing as a member of the corps de ballet and progressed to principal roles by the age of 19. After that she performed lead roles in such ballets as the Nutcracker, Cinderella, Swan Lake, etc.
After deciding to quit performing and go back to school 6 years ago, Alona began her teaching career in hopes to pass her practical experience and knowledge on to her students. Since then she has put together numbers that both entertained audiences and won overalls at competitions. She is a passionate and dedicated teacher who inspires and encourages her students to have faith in themselves and work hard.
Nina's passion for dance began at The Ballet School of Woodbridge where she spent 15 years training in Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Hip Hop and Lyrical. Nina specialized in the Vaganova Ballet Method where she completed her examinations with the Society of Russian Ballet and was awarded the honourable level of distinction. She has appeared in several dance shows in the local community and was featured in a performance along side Ballet Creole. Dance has always been an integral aspect in Nina's life. It has contributed to her attributes of dedication, discipline and perserverance. Nina is currently a high school teacher with the Toronto District School Board where she continues to inspire youth to become involved in the arts. Nina is extremely proud of all her students and always encourages them to follow their dreams!
Simona began her dance career at 5 years old with Ballet. Since then, she has also studied in the disciplines of Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Latin, Belly Dance, Hip Hop and Zumba. To share her passion for Hip Hop culture, Simona successfully implemented the first ever Hip Hop dance program at her high school. Ever since, she has undergone intensive training at Dance Stream Studio, where she now teaches Hip Hop and Zumba to students of all ages and levels. Simona is currently a member of G-Ties, a Toronto Hip Hop crew that has successfully competed across Ontario and performs each year at Toronto's own Youth Day and Bazaar Showcase, as well as a dancer for Party Crew Entertainment. Simona constantly continues to expand her knowledge by training with well-known choreographers & dancers such as Steve Bolton, Luther Brown, Chachi Gonzales, Sho-Tyme, and many more. She is currently finishing her Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology at York University and is now pursuing one of her next goals of attaining her Dance Science Diploma. Simona's mission is to spread her love for dance with children, teens, adults, parents, and grandparents, and to encourage any age group to get on up and have fun!
Bar Belopolski is one of Dance Stream's finest senior dancers newly recruited as our new office manager. Handling all responsibilities from class schedules, registration, customs and all other info concerning our studio. She is committed to help students and parents feel welcomed in the studio. She will answer any questions you have. Her genuine smile and bilingual language skills will make you feel right at home.
Oleksandr has been professionally dancing and choreographing on international stage for over Twenty Years. His passion for Tap dancing began in Stavropol Cossack Dance Company, back in 1985 in Russia. He has travelled all around the world visiting countries like France, Switzerland, Praha and Ukraine taking part in stage works such as: Giselle, Nutcracker, Into the Lights, Memories of a Don Messer Jubilee, Balzak Fim Productions, Virsky Show and the famous musicals Dracula and Mermaid. In 1993 -1996 he has received the choreography diploma at the Lvov National Institute of Choreographic Arts. Oleksandr loves working with children, and is very thrilled to have the opportunity to share his knowledge and experience the students at Dance Stream Studio.
Heather is energetic, passionate and creative. She has performed and competed in all types of dance including ballet, pointe, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, tap and acro. She studied Dance Performance at George Brown College, cheered for the Toronto Argonauts and then performed on Carnival Cruise lines for two years. Upon her return she has been teaching all types of dance at various studios in the GTA, more specifically Durham Region, and she enjoys teaching children and adults alike. She is always seeking additional opportunities to grow as a dancer, choreographer and teacher.
Ilya Bodyakin is a 22 year old dancer from Thornhill Ontario. He began his Hip-Hop dance education at the age of 14 at various studios before settling at Dance Stream. He continued to train there in the styles of contemporary, ballet, jazz, Latin and Hip-Hop until he found a passion for Hip-Hop and joined the G-Ties competitive crew where he is now the lead choreographer.
Ilya has trained with many professionals in the industry such as Miles Faber, Amadeus Primal of Northbuck, Luther Brown, Shavar/Leon Blackwood, Kaze, and more. Ilya is a part of DARK Dance Company Varsity team where he continues to train and learn in styles including Popping, House, Locking, Krump and more. Ilya has performed for different venues such as Bazaar Showcase and Choreographer's Ball as well as L.A. artist R-Mean. Ilya is continuously striving to improve his technique and understanding of Hip-Hop movement through guidance of inspiring mentors such as Lineen Doung and self-discovery.
